Chief Research Security Officer, The Texas A&M University System
Dr. Kevin Gamache is Chief Research Security Officer for The Texas A&M University System. He is responsible for ensuring A&M System member universities are compliant with U.S. Government requirements for protecting sensitive federal information. He established and leads the Academic Security & Counter Exploitation Program, an association of U.S. universities established to help heighten security awareness in academia. His leadership on behalf of the academic security community resulted in the A&M System receiving the James S. Cogswell Award from the Defense Security Service (DSS) in 2015. In 2017 and 2019 the A&M System received the Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency’s Award for Excellence in Counterintelligence. He received a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science Degree from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He retired from the United States Air Force in 2005 with the rank of Colonel after 24 years of service.
